Transmission Service
The transmission may well be one of the most complicated and important components of your vehicle. By transferring energy created by the engine to the wheels, transmissions today are more complex than ever, but still operate in the same basic way. The gears, energy transfer and all the friction create tremendous heat and the transmission fluid helps to lubricate all the moving components and maintain consistent temperatures. That’s why it’s important to trust your transmissions maintenance and repair to ServiceONE Automotive.
Why Is It Needed?
Did you know that over 90% of all automatic transmission failures are due to overheating and fluid contamination? Transmission fluid deteriorates over time. Hard use – such as stop and go driving, driving up and down hills or towing a trailer or boat will accelerate the deterioration process. This type of driving raises the operating temperature of the transmission, putting stress and strain on both the transmission and the fluid. The fluid, which helps facilitate gear shifts, cools and lubricates the transmission. It can become contaminated with metal shavings and sludge build up over time, causing transmission failure.
Preventative Maintenance is Key
Today’s transmissions are sophisticated and costly to repair. A little bit of preventative maintenance can go a long way to insuring trouble free operation.
The Solution
This service utilizes patented equipment to safely remove harmful sludge, varnish deposits and old contaminated fluid. State of the art machines allow our ASE certified technicians to monitor and control every step of the process. The fluid exchange process removes and refills nearly 100% of the transmission fluid, including the transmission pan, transmission cooler lines and the torque converter to help extend the life of the transmission, smooths hard shifting problems and revitalizes seals and o-rings to help prevent leaks.
The transmission pan is removed and a new filter and gasket are installed. This process replaces approximately 40% of the transmission fluid in your vehicle. If your transmission filter is clogged, your vehicle won’t be able to shift gears effectively.
This process includes the Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchange process and the Filter & Gasket Replacement.
